India became independent on 15th August.
Independence Day is annually celebrated on 15 August,as a national holiday in India, India was liberated from the United Kingdom on 15th August 1947.The UK Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act 1947 transferring legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly.
Independence Day, one of the three National holidays in India (the other two being the Republic Day on 26 January and Mahatma Gandhi's birthday on 2 October), is observed in all Indian states and union territories.

Independence Day of India will be celebrated by the people all over the India on 15th of August 2018, at Thursday. This year in 2019, India will celebrate its 73rd Independence Day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who had contributed a lot and fought for the Independence of India.
